AUREA is an experimental lossy image codec designed to outperform JPEG through a modern perceptual compression pipeline: variable-size Lapped Orthogonal Transforms (8/16/32), a zero-bit Turing morphogenesis saliency field, AC-domain Chroma-from-Luma prediction, and rANS entropy coding with Exp-Golomb coding.
